INSTRUMENT ASSISTED SOFT TISSUE MOBILIZATION (IASTM)
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is great for treating athletes as well as the general public. The stainless steel instruments are specifically developed to assist clinicians in breaking down soft tissue restrictions, “adhesion's” and myofascial restrictions.
Treatment goals are to “break up” these adhesion's by breaking down the collagen cross-links that have been formed and then to realign them with proper stretching and strengthening, allowing for better functioning and range of motion.
Used with other therapies, including chiropractic adjustments, IASTM has been very successful in treating the following:
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Lateral/Medial Epicondylitis
- Rotator Cuff Tendinitis
- DeQuervain’s Syndrome
- Non-Acute Bursitis
- RSD, Achilles Tendinitis
- Reduced ROM due to Scar Tissue
- Neck/Back Pain
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Heel Pain
- Scars
- Myofascial Pain
- IT Band Syndrome
- Patellar Tendinitis
- Acute and Chronic Sprains/Strains
