Sports, Rehabilitation, and Physiotherapy

Dr. Nate Weber oversees all new sports injury patients.  From ankle sprains to overuse, and backaches from too many miles on the bike, Dr. Weber is among the area’s most credentialed providers when it comes to rehabilitation and getting our athletes back in the game.

Dr. Weber has his master’s in Sports Rehab from Logan College of Chiropractic and has completed extensive training at the McKenzie Institute (additional training in lumbar back pain and disc management), Active Release Technique, FMS, SFMA, and more. While Doctors Anderson and Kleene have some of the same techniques, it’s Dr. Weber’s main skill set. We attempt to do all that we can to get our patients out of pain and living a wellness-driven lifestyle as quickly as possible. Each doctor will make recommendations for visiting with another in-house chiropractor who may be better skilled to see your case.

The Back In Line Clinic’s offer free consultations if you would like to be evaluated and discuss your treatment options.

Graston Technique LogoGraston Technique

Graston® is an instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization technique originally developed for athletes, but now commonly used for the general public.  The stainless steel instruments are specifically developed to assist clinicians in breaking down scar tissue and myofascial restrictions.  This technique is very useful in areas of chronic inflammation or soft tissue fibrosis. It is valuable in helping to decrease treatment time. Used with other therapies, including chiropractic adjustments, Graston® has been very successful in treating the following: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Lateral/Medial Epicondylitis, Rotator Cuff Tendinitis, DeQuervain’s Syndrome, Non – Acute Bursitis, RSD, Achilles Tendinitis, Reduced ROM due to Scar Tissue, Neck / Back Pain, Plantar Fascitis, Heel Pain, Scars, Myofascial Pain, IT Band Syndrome, Patellar Tendinitis, Acute and Chronic Sprains/Strains.

Drs. Anderson, Kleene, and Weber all use this technique.

Active Release Technique LogoActive Release Technique

Acrive Release Technique (A.R.T.) is what makes us different than other healthcare offices. A.R.T. is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Many conditions treated in our office all have one important thing in common; they are often a result of overused muscles.  Both Doctor’s Weber and Kleene are trained and certified in this amazing technique.

Over-used muscles change in three important ways:

  • Acute conditions (pulls, tears, collisions)
  • Accumulation of small tears (repetitive motion)
  • Not getting enough oxygen (prolonged contraction)

Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons can cause tendonitis, and nerves can become trapped. This can cause inflammation, reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may feel a deep ache, weakness or numbness and tingling.

Every A.R.T. session is actually a combination of examination and treatment. The A.R.T. provider uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements.
These treatment protocols—over 500 specific moves—are unique to A.R.T. They allow providers to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient. A.R.T. is not a cookie-cutter approach.

These soft tissue conditions are treated by applying specific tension and pressure with precise patient movement. During treatment patients often report a slight burning sensation similar to that felt while lifting weights. They often describe it as a “hurts so good” feeling or “I can feel it working!”
