Hi there! I’m Dr. Hannah Anderson. I was born a southern belle, raised in Swisher, Iowa, and now reside in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Luther College, where I also met my husband before moving on to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa. During my years in grad school and shortly after, I finished two additional years of education in Webster technique, pediatrics, prenatal, and family care from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). This explains the extra CACCP letters after my name and why I’m your go-to doc for preconception, prenatal, and postpartum care (as well as little tiny babes from day one to high school). I had my own two babies at home with some amazing midwives. My pregnancy, and journey as Margot & Frankie’s mom has given me an entirely new appreciation for the capabilities of the female body, and a belief that all moms deserve a gold medal for even getting to the office on time with everyone in one piece. I’ll do my best to make mom-life easier for you in any way that I can.
A personal struggle with gut health caused me to dive in and learn an abundance about food sensitivities and nutrition. I would love to help you with questions like, “Am I getting enough vitamins and minerals?” “Is food causing my (headaches, stomach aches, foggy brain, anxiety, depression, weight gain, etc.)?” and “How can I leverage food/nutrition to prevent disease in the first place?” I won’t leave you hanging. If you’re lost in lurch regarding your new way of eating, chances are I’ve eaten that way for a while too, and have some tricks up my sleeve. If you’ve got questions about vitamins and supplements that can help you heal faster, or creating the custom YOU vitamin (yes, that’s a thing), let’s chat!
I love Back in Line Family Chiropractic & Wellness because I get to practice in a way that rounds us out as whole people.
- Physically (soft tissue and spinal adjustments perfectly tailored to the age, size, and weight of the patients – big or small!)
- Chemically (food, supplements, and lab testing)
- Mentally/Emotionally (check out N.E.T.—It’s been helping me since I was 16, so I had to bring it to Back In Line!)
Outside of the clinic? I’m still all about health, wellness, and #momlife. In an effort to reach more people outside of the clinic, Dr. CJ and I created Well Labs: a nutrition company with a mission to get preventative health care to the people who need it most. I also launched BIRTHFIT Cedar Rapids in early 2018, to help Cedar Rapids and corridor moms through the motherhood transition. Please check it out if you’d like to be, or have ever been pregnant. I’m particularly passionate about postpartum care (fitness, rehab, nutrition) which is virtually non-existent in our society. BIRTHFIT is there to answer questions, provide classes, and support you in the areas of fitness, nutrition, chiropractic, and mindset. How do I workout after baby? How can I not pee my pants when I jump/laugh/run? How do I train for birth? Yes, it’s an athletic event that requires training. What are some things to check off your mental checklist to have the birth you want, or fight with your partner less when the sleepless days and nights come? If your workplace is full of moms, we can totally do a BIRTHFIT workshop at your office. I will come to you with arms full of snacks.
C-section moms, I’m here for you! There aren’t a lot of resources to recover from cesarean surgery, so Please let’s talk about it! Did you know that 6-8 weeks after a cesarean birth we can start to work on your scar tissue? This prevents it from binding other structures in your abdomen (bladder, bowel, pelvic muscles) and promotes a better functioning mid-section and body.
When I’m not at work I like to play sand volleyball, hit up all my favorite local restaurants, exercise, cook, and play firefighter superhero fairy princess astronaut chef with my kids (or whatever they’re choosing today).
